About Pays-de-la-Loire & Western Loire

The Pays-de-la-Loire has 300 kilometres of Atlantic coastline with sea-breezes, beaches, bays, and islands such as Yeu and Noirmoutier.

This is in contrast with the rich, green countryside in which you will find the river Loire. The Loire Valley-Atlantic region (Pays-de-la-Loire) includes the Departments of Loire-Atlantique, Maine-et-Loire, Sarthe, Vendée, and Mayenne.

The region of Pays-de-la-Loire is heavily influenced by the surrounding regions of Brittany and Normandy and this shows both in the surroundings and culture. Pays-de-la-Loire has an abundance of small farms, gites and cottages, as well as self catering apartments.
