The westernmost region of France is Brittany which projects out into the Atlantic Ocean and is encapsulated in 750 miles of spectacular coastline. This region separates the English Channel from the Bay of Biscay.
Due to its setting it's un-surprising that the activities in Brittany are mainly focused on the water: sailing, surfing, canoeing, rowing, and sand yachting are but a few water sports that you can try your hand at while staying in this region.
If you are not a fan of getting wet on holiday there is a massive amount of historical attractions: megaliths, château, museums and medieval towns are dotted all over Brittany.
Brittany hosts a large number of cottages and villas for your stay if you prefer accommodation that is off the beaten track.
